The inspiration behind this came from a painful experience in a previous role, where a series of avoidable mistakes ultimately led to significant data loss and the dismissal of a talented engineer. The root cause wasn't incompetence, it was a lack of visibility and context at the moment it mattered most. Stratum exists to make sure no one is flying blind when they apply infrastructure changes.
The desktop app is completely free, including Infracost CLI integration, so you get cost estimates alongside your plan diffs out of the box.
Paid tiers are on the roadmap, unlocking team-focused features like OPA policy enforcement, CI/CD pipeline integration, and full organisational controls. But the core experience? Always free, always local.
