Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I'm Chetan, the maker of MoneySplit.
**The Inspiration**
A few months ago, my mom looked at my credit card statement and asked a very simple question: *"Why is your bill over ₹50,000 every month, and what exactly are you spending it on?"*
The embarrassing truth was that I had absolutely no idea where it was all going.
**The Problem**
I immediately went to the app store looking for a daily expense tracker. But as a backend engineer who deeply values data privacy, I was incredibly frustrated by the options. Almost every app out there demanded a phone number, forced a cloud sync, or was bloated with social features I didn't care about. I didn't want my financial data sitting on someone else's server just so I could see my own budget.
**The Solution**
I decided to just solve my own problem and spent the last 5 months building MoneySplit. It is designed to be completely offline-first and strictly private.
It automatically catches your spends by parsing bank SMS alerts directly on your device. It tracks your recurring bills, subscriptions, and EMIs, and gives you a simple, clean visual of your budget. Zero cloud sync, zero forced sign-ups. Your data never leaves your phone.
Since frontend isn't my main domain, I relied heavily on a clean, card-less Material 3 design to make it highly usable and clutter-free.
