✨Magic Notebook✨ is a calm writing app for people who just want to write. No clutter. No complex systems. No AI. • Just open the app and start typing — no setup, no learning curve • Write in a familiar way, with full support for DOCX • Add images and tables without breaking your flow • Your files stay on your device — no lock-in, no forced cloud Built for writers, journalists, and anyone who wants a simple, focused writing experience — without technical overhead.
I built Magic Notebook because writing in most apps started to feel… exhausting.
Tools like Word are powerful, but often overwhelming — too many options, too much interface. At the same time, Markdown editors are simple, but not approachable for non-technical users.
I wanted something in between: a calm, simple writing space that doesn’t get in your way.
Also, I’m not a big fan of the idea that AI should do all the writing for us. I do plan to add AI — but only as a light assistant, not as a replacement for thinking and creativity.
Magic Notebook is my attempt to bring back a more natural, focused writing experience.
Damn, a product with "no AI' nowadays attracts more attention than any AI-based product, you're getting it right! Would love to try your Magic Notebook soon, good luck!
Actually, I do plan to add AI — but more as an assistant , not as a substitute for human thinking and writing.
Things like wording suggestions, removing repetition, helping with structure, research and fact-checking make a lot of sense to me.
What I don’t want is a machine for mass-producing generic, unreadable content. I’d rather build something closer to an editor or mentor than an autopilot for writing.
Wrote a long architecture plan yesterday for a tool I maintain. Easy part was the typing; hard part was every "why this and not that" decision — those have to come from your own head before any tool helps. AI sits downstream of that for me. The "no AI for the writing itself" framing here makes sense from where I work.
Love seeing other makers launching today. Your product definitely caught my eye and feels like a great fit for Product Hunt.
Supporting fellow builders today, and would love to support each other. Best of luck with the launch 🚀
In a world of AI-everything, a 'calm writing app' is actually refreshing. Are there options for Markdown export, or is the focus purely on the internal writing experience?

Magic Notebook was hunted by Vladimir Nikishin. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
