YouTube Pop Out Player - Floaty
Pop out YouTube with speed, loop and real controls
Floaty pops any YouTube video into a small always-on-top window, with the controls Chrome's picture-in-picture is missing: 0.5–3× speed, A-B loop, 10s skip, playlist next/prev and volume. Alt+P to start. No account, no tracking, 52 languages.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
I built Floaty because I watch a lot of YouTube while I work, mostly coding tutorials and lectures. Chrome's picture-in-picture keeps the video on top, but the moment I wanted to slow it down, loop a section or skip back 10 seconds, I had to go back to the tab.
So Floaty puts those controls right in the floating window:
- Speed from 0.5× to 3× (scroll on the button, or [ and ])
- A-B loop — mark a start and end, repeat it. Great for learning a song or a phrase in a new language
- 10s skip, next/previous video (works with playlists and mixes), volume
- Keyboard shortcuts for everything, controls auto-hide
How to use: open any YouTube video, click the Floaty button in the player or press Alt+P, then drag and resize the window anywhere.
It collects no data at all — no account, no tracking, no ads — and it only runs on youtube.com. It's available in 52 languages.
It's brand new, so I'd really love your feedback: what's missing, what's annoying, what you'd use it for. I'll be here all day answering comments 🙏
