Most scanners grade food in general. Yllo answers one question: can YOU eat this? Built by parents whose baby reacted to histamine and FODMAPs. No reliable answer existed, so we read the papers — 927 foods, 12 intolerances, every rating naming the study behind it. Then Wellness Path : Step 1: evict what irritates the gut — sugar, ultra-processing, salt, risky additives. Step 2, only once you are stable: bring fibre back, slowly.

Hey Product Hunt 👋 We're the parents who built Yllo. It started the day our son began eating real food — and didn't tolerate it. Not an allergy — an intolerance. Histamine, then FODMAPs. From the very first solids, every introduction went wrong. There was no "before" to go back to: we were trying to build a diet from nothing, one food at a time. At the worst of it, potatoes were the only thing we knew was safe. The part nobody tells you 😵 We went looking for an answer. What can he eat? There wasn't one. Forums contradicted each other. Elimination lists copied one another without ever saying where the numbers came from. Apps graded food "healthy" or "not" — which tells you nothing when the question is whether THIS product will give your child a reaction tonight. And then you travel, and you're holding a package in a language you don't read 🧳 So we started reading the actual papers. Not blog summaries of papers — the papers. Which food was measured, in what quantity, and what the study explicitly could NOT say. Two steps, because that's what worked STEP 1 — EVICTION. Stop eating what you don't tolerate. Twelve intolerances, scan a barcode, get the answer for your profile — not a general grade, yours. STEP 2 — EAT WELL. Once the reactions stop, start rebuilding. Minimally processed food, no gut-disrupting additives — emulsifiers, sweeteners, certain E-numbers — and low added sugar and salt. Then fibre, gradually: fibre is what feeds your flora, but a compromised gut can't take it all at once, so the app keeps it locked until you're stable, then tells you one food at a time, wait, observe, rotate your sources — different fibres feed different microbes. We didn't invent that sequence. It's Desai et al. (Cell, 2016) on what happens to the mucus barrier when fibre disappears, Sonnenburg (Nature, 2016), Suez (Cell, 2022) on sweeteners, Wilck (Nature, 2017) on salt. The app names them on the screen where they apply. What you get → 927 foods across 12 intolerances: FODMAPs, histamine, lactose, gluten, fructose, oligosaccharides, sorbitol, sucrose, tyramine, salicylate, nickel, oxalates → Every rating explains WHY and names the study. 202 references on the sources page, 108 opened and read in full — we mark which is which → Ingredient names matched across 192 languages, for exactly those moments abroad → A profile per family member, each with their own intolerances → No account. Your profile stays on your device Where he is now He went from potatoes to a diet we no longer think about. Every food on that plate was won back one at a time, and Yllo is the method we used, turned into an app. Today it's yours 🚀 Tell us: what's the food you've never been sure about?
