I built WoRD because I read slowly and every "speed reading" app felt like a chore. So I made one that shows you one word at a time (the RSVP method: no eye movement, no re-reading) and wrapped it in the stuff that actually keeps me practicing: a daily plan, streaks, 720 short stories in 4 languages, and stats that show my speed climbing.
v1.7 adds an Arcade: Word Hunt (catch the golden words) and Odd One Out (expel the intruder), so training doesn't feel like homework.

tried it for a few minutes and honestly the arcade mode is weirdly motivating, like i actually wanted to keep reading to beat my score. the one-word-at-a-time thing felt awkward at first but you kind of get used to it
been using WoRD for a couple weeks and the RSVP pacing actually works, my wpm went up nicely. one thing id love is the ability to import my own epub or pdf files so i can practice on books i already own instead of only the built in library.
Tried the arcade mode out of curiosity and it actually makes speed drills feel less like homework. The 720 stories across four languages is a nice bonus too, plenty of material to practice with without it feeling stale.
