I built Voice Kit because quick browser audio capture often turns into a workflow mess: one tool for microphone notes, another for tab audio, another for trimming, and files scattered across downloads. I wanted a small recorder that stays in Chrome, captures the source context, and keeps everything local. Voice Kit records mic audio, tab audio, or both together, then lets you replay, trim, rename, and export without uploading recordings anywhere.
Love that everything stays local, the trimming and export options in the browser are super handy. One thing I'd love is keyboard shortcuts for start, stop, and split during recording so I can quickly chop up long captures without breaking my flow.
Using Voice Kit daily for podcast clips. One thing that would make it perfect: a simple keyboard shortcut to toggle recording on and off, like Ctrl+Shift+R. Would save a lot of clicks during long recording sessions.
A drag and drop area for batch importing multiple audio files at once would save a ton of time, especially when you need to trim and export several clips in a row. Right now it looks like you handle one source at a time which can get tedious for bigger projects.

One thing that would make this a daily driver for me is a keyboard shortcut to start and stop recording without clicking the extension icon, plus maybe a hotkey to instantly trim and save the last clip as MP3. That would save a lot of friction when capturing quick voice memos.
finally a recorder that does not make me dance through five tabs to get the audio out of chrome. trimming straight in the browser before exporting saved me a whole detour into audacity.
