I'm Thomas, the maker behind Vently.
Vently is an AI you talk to when you just need to get something off your chest. Not a therapist, not a coach, not a productivity tool, just a listener. You pick someone from your industry (there are 20 of them, from VPs of Product to teachers to nurses to founders to engineers), you hit call, and you vent. They listen. They reflect things back. They ask one good question. They don't pile on advice you didn't ask for.
The reason it exists: most of the "AI companion" stuff out there immediately tries to fix you. Two messages in and it's bullet-pointing your life back at you. I wanted the opposite , something that sits with you in the mess for a minute before anyone reaches for a solution. The prompt architecture is built around three phases- the dump, the unpacking, the reset ,and the golden rule baked into every persona is "no unsolicited advice."
You can chat or call. Calls feel like a real phone call with someone in your field who actually gets the texture of your day.
