We built Unstale around a problem developers know well: upgrading an existing application can be much harder than building something new.
The application works. Customers depend on it. But runtime versions age, dependencies fall behind, and framework upgrades introduce changes that are difficult to assess before touching production.
We want to make that process less painful.
Unstale focuses on practical codebase modernization, with upgrade guidance that explains what breaks and how to address it. We're working toward making upgrades more predictable through tested changes and reviewable pull requests.
We've published guides covering PHP, Laravel, Python, and Django upgrades, based on official upgrade notes and real-world code changes.
We're sharing Unstale because we'd love feedback from developers and engineering teams who maintain older applications.
