Hi Product Hunt! 👋 I’m the maker of TransLemon.
I love traveling, but foreign scripts are hard for me, especially in Japan and Thailand. The worst case is a handwritten menu with no pictures: I have no idea what I’m about to order. I tried other translation apps, including Google Translate. They handle standard fonts fine, but complex handwriting often defeats them, and many of them are far more complicated than a travel tool needs to be.
So I built what I wanted: one tap to snap a photo, one tap to start a conversation. And since AI models are so good now, the translation quality can be genuinely great.
What it does
📷 Photo translation: point at a menu or sign and get the translation, with handwritten text in mind
🍜 Dish lookup: on menus, tap any dish name to see a description and likely photos of the dish
💬 Conversation translation: talk with someone in another language
Pricing
Free trial, no subscription needed: 3 photo translations + 3 minutes of conversation translation
Basic plan: $3.99/week (150 photos + 15 minutes per week), plenty for a trip. Other paid options are available if you need more.
