Hey Hunters 👋
I built TonesMatch because of one specific frustration with general AI:
Ask ChatGPT for "Master of Puppets settings on my Boss Katana 50" and it'll confidently tell you to set the Presence knob to 7 and use the Rectifier channel.
Problem: the Katana 50 has no Presence knob on the front panel. And no Rectifier channel — the channels are Clean, Crunch, Lead, Brown, and Acoustic.
The AI sounds right. But you can't actually dial it in.
TonesMatch is built differently. We profiled 2,000+ guitars, 1,500+ amps, and 879 pedals — their real EQ ranges, real channels, real control sets. So when you search a song, every setting we return actually exists on your specific amp.
How it works:
1. Pick any song (free to browse — 13,000+ tones)
2. Add your guitar and amp (we've profiled 4,000+ models)
3. Get exact settings — every knob, every channel, every pedal — dialed in for YOUR rig
Works for both guitar and bass. We source from studio session notes, rig rundowns, and guitar communities, and cite the sources so you can verify.
Won't make a Squier sound like a Custom Shop. But will get you to the tone you're chasing without the 3-hour knob-twisting tax.
Free 7-day trial. Drop a song you've been trying to nail and I'll show you the match for your gear.

Who hunted TonesMatch?
TonesMatch was hunted by Veronica Hayes. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
