tilde is a lightweight, open-source todo app for Windows that helps you capture tasks before they slip away. Press ~ to open a centered quick-entry box without leaving your current app, or hold Alt to dictate. Unfinished tasks roll over to today, show how long they've been overdue, and turn red after 3 days. Also includes recurring tasks, progress tracking, pinned priorities, and history search and export by date or keyword.
Hey Product Hunt! 👋
I built tilde around a small frustration: sometimes, the hardest part of managing a task is simply getting it into your todo list.
When I'm working, I often think of something I need to do, but switching apps just to add a task interrupts my flow. And if I tell myself I'll remember it later, I often don't.
So I made tilde, a lightweight, open-source todo app for Windows.
Here's how it works:
- Press ~ to open a quick-entry box right in the middle of your screen.
- Hold Alt to dictate a task instead of typing.
- Unfinished tasks roll over to today, with overdue labels and a red reminder after 3 days.
- Track progress, pin important tasks, set daily recurring tasks, and search or export task history.
I wanted to make capturing a task feel almost effortless, while making unfinished work harder to overlook. tilde is intentionally lightweight rather than a full project management system.
It's an early project, and I'd love to hear from people who use keyboard shortcuts to stay organized.
Two questions I'm curious about:
1. Would you find a global ~ shortcut useful in your daily workflow?
2. Do automatic task rollovers help you stay on track, or would you prefer to decide when each task moves forward?
Thanks for checking it out! I'd really appreciate your honest feedback.
