Hey Product Hunt 👋
I built TheTapTempo because I kept running into the same annoying moment: hearing a track and having no fast way to know its actual BPM, just a rough guess, or five tabs open trying to piece it together from a tap-tempo widget, a separate delay calculator, and a PDF of tempo markings from music theory class.
The first version was just a tap tempo tool. But every musician, DJ, and producer I showed it to asked the same follow-up question: "okay, now what do I do with this number?" That's what pushed the project from a single widget into a full toolkit, Metronome, BPM Calculator, BPM to Milliseconds, Delay & Reverb Time, and Tempo Markings, all built to answer that next question instantly, without leaving the tab.
Everything runs entirely client-side, no accounts, no data sent anywhere, works offline once loaded. That was a deliberate choice: these are tools people reach for mid-session, mid-practice, mid-set. They need to be instant, not gated behind a sign-up flow.
Would genuinely love feedback from this community, especially from DJs and producers on workflow gaps, and from teachers/students on whether the Tempo Markings reference is actually useful in a lesson setting. Tell me what's missing and I'll be building based on it.
