My mom runs a small real estate company and she voiced some frustration that she wanted a way to backup her text messages with clients and other business associates.
As a software engineer, this sounded like an interesting problem that perhaps I could solve!
And here it is! Text2Store!
Text2Store copies your iPhone and iPad messages to your own computer and keeps every backup as a dated snapshot you can read and search. Photos, videos, and other attachments come with them. The archives stay on your computer but you can include them in a time machine or icloud backup of your choosing, Text2Store has no involvement in that!
That app also offers the ability to export to PDF, CSV, and even a verified export that provides a tamper proof archive where it is needed. Also there's the option for AI summaries performed by Gemini, but you must agree and opt in before any thing leave your machine (see AI Summaries in our help section).

Finally a tool that keeps my iPhone texts off the cloud and still lets me search them like email. The local backup over USB took about two minutes for 40k messages.
