Tasqs is a task manager built on an honest idea: not everything on your list deserves to survive. Most apps just help you capture more. Tasqs helps you finish, shrink, or let go. Friday Amnesty is a weekly ritual for the tasks you keep rescheduling; the Shortlist caps your day at five. Plus tags, recurring tasks, an AI assistant, and a connector to run your tasks from ChatGPT or Claude. Private by design: no ads, no data selling. Free to start, from a founder tired of to-do list guilt.

Hey Product Hunt, I'm Tim, the solo founder behind Tasqs. I built it because every other to-do app I tried had the same problem: they're designed for capture. The easier they make it to add tasks, the longer your list gets, and the more behind you feel. My list became a pile of guilt I scrolled past every morning. So Tasqs is built around a different idea: not everything on your list deserves to survive. Two features carry that: 🗓️ Friday Amnesty: Once a week, it surfaces the tasks you keep rescheduling and gives you three real choices: commit to a real date, shrink it to a first step, or let it go. No guilt. Letting go is a decision, not a failure. 📌 The Shortlist: A daily list capped at five tasks. Across all your lists there's only one real #1, and this is where you say what it is. Under that it's a full, fast task manager: recurring tasks, tags, a built-in AI assistant, a calendar feed, and an MCP connector so you can run your tasks straight from ChatGPT or Claude ("what's overdue?", "add milk to groceries"). And it's private by design, your task content is encrypted at rest, there are no ads, nothing is sold, and analytics never touch your account. It's free to start. I'm one person who cares a lot about getting this right, so I'll be in the comments all day. The thing I'd genuinely love feedback on: does the "let it go" idea resonate, or does deleting a task you swore you'd do just feel like losing? That tension is the whole product, and I want to hear how it lands for you. Thanks for taking a look 🙏

Who hunted Tasqs?

Tasqs was hunted by Tim Laurent. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
