SwapNest started from a problem we lived ourselves.
We're students who studied abroad, and every single time it was the same story: you land in a new city, you spend your first weekend at IKEA buying a desk, a lamp, hangers, bedding, things you need immediately but never planned for. You spend hundreds of euros setting up a room you'll leave in 6 months.
And then comes move-out day. You can't take it with you. Nobody wants to buy a second-hand mattress on WhatsApp groups. So you drag everything to the street and leave it there. Hundreds of euros, gone. Tonnes of perfectly usable furniture, wasted.
We thought: there has to be a better way.
