StreamCam 2.0 has been rebuilt from the ground up to improve performance and allow you to stream in 4K, up to 120fps! Still follows the same, hassle-free setup philosophy; no cables, no accounts, no extra software installs... run the app, copy the URL & paste it into OBS and you're good to go!
Hey Product Hunt 👋 I'm Dorian, and StreamCam is (still) my one-person project. It first launched here a few years ago as a simple way to use your iPhone as a webcam in OBS. Then life happened, and it sat untouched for a while...
This year I came back and rebuilt all of it: the streaming engine, the app and the website. 2.0 is the result, and I'm really proud of it.
Here's what's new: • Much less bandwidth use and a LOT more performant; picture is sharper and easier on your Wi-Fi, and supports up to 4K and 120 fps on recent iPhones. • It's quick. I built a little latency lab to measure it properly: your camera lands in OBS less than 100 ms. • Complete UI overhaul, much snappier UX & sensible settings. • Setup is still one step. Copy the address, add it to OBS as a Browser Source, and you're live. Mac, Windows or Linux.
Coming next, and already in TestFlight: an Apple Watch app, so you can go live or stop from your wrist and get alerted if something needs your attention. I've also added support for 8 new languages in 2.1, which is with Apple for review right now.
The free version also got upgraded from 480p to 720p and allows you to stream with no limits nor watermarks. The Pro version opens up 1080p to 4K, higher frame rates and encoder tuning.
🎁 For the Product Hunt community: code PH50 gives you 50% off your first year of Pro yearly, until November 30. Redeem it here: https://apps.apple.com/redeem?ct... or in the app from the Pro screen (Redeem Code).
