Hi Product Hunt! I'm Azhovan, and this is Stirae, a voice writing app for Mac. You talk, and Stirae turns what you say into writing that sounds the way you want, in the apps and websites you already use.
My wife and I built it for ourselves. After we moved to Germany, we were suddenly writing all day in English and German, and neither is our first language. I'd write something in Slack like "I've been sitting on this bug since yesterday," meaning I'd been working on it nonstop. To a native speaker, it sounded like I'd been ignoring it. The AI tools we tried missed lines like that, and their rewrites didn't sound like us either. Plain dictation just typed the mistake out.
So Stirae lets you decide how you sound. You create Writing Styles, which are your own instructions for tone, wording, structure, and formatting, and use them wherever you write on your Mac. Once Stirae is set up, basic dictation runs locally on your Mac and works offline, while refinement and translation are processed online.
Everyone who signs up gets one month of free access to all features. You'll need a Mac with Apple silicon (M1 or newer).
I'd love to hear what you'd use it for, and where it still feels awkward.
