I built Stella because every AI app forces you into their design and feature choices. Stella is the opposite — it's a desktop app where the entire app itself is editable by asking. Want a sidebar tab for your Spotify queue? Ask. Want a different chat layout? Ask. Open source, your data stays on your computer. Stella is both your personal assistant and your desktop app. Add, change, or remove whatever you want. The features are up to you, not someone else.
Letting an application autonomously rewrite its own code and reload the UI is a very fun mechanic. However, dynamically managing state during those on-the-fly updates sounds incredibly prone to breaking. I'm curious how the underlying architecture sandboxes the generated code to prevent the agent from accidentally corrupting the core rendering loop or locking the user out of the interface entirely when an update fails.
