I didn’t build this as a “wellness app.” I built it because I’ve seen how fast a moment can spiral and how hard it is to find help right when you need it. I lost both of my parents to suicide, and later I came close to losing others I love. What stuck with me was not a lack of information. It was the lack of something simple you could reach for in the exact moment things start to slip.
That is what I focused on while building StayGreen. Not long routines or perfect habits, but a way to catch that moment early and find your way back without having to think through a dozen options. The green, yellow, red system came from that need for clarity under pressure, and the always-available companion came from knowing that some of the hardest moments happen when no one else is around.
