What if a day had 36 hours? SO TIME is an experimental clock that reimagines the 24-hour day. It runs at 1.5× speed, turning one ordinary 24-hour day into 36 SO TIME hours. 27:18. 31:42. 35:59. It doesn’t give you more time. It changes how time feels. This is not a productivity hack. It’s a small experiment in questioning one assumption we rarely question: Why 24 hours? SO TIME is available for $1/month. TIME IS NEGOTIABLE.
Hi Product Hunt 👋
I’m Susumu from Japan.
I’ve spent nearly 20 years designing footwear and physical products.
This is my first attempt at designing time itself.
One day, someone told me, “I don’t have enough time.”
Instead of looking for ways to squeeze more time out of the day, I questioned the assumption itself.
Why do we accept that a day has to feel like 24 hours?
So I changed the clock.
SO TIME runs at 1.5× speed, so one normal 24-hour day becomes 36 SO TIME hours.
That means your clock can show 27:18, 31:42, or 35:59.
At first, it feels wrong.
Then something interesting happens.
Your sense of where you are in the day starts to shift.
SO TIME came from a simple principle I use when designing:
Question the assumption before designing the solution.
I didn’t want to make another productivity app.
I wanted to make something that makes you look at an ordinary rule and think:
“Wait. Why is it this way?”
If SO TIME changes how time feels to you, even slightly, then the experiment worked.
This might be useful.
Or completely stupid.
Either answer is interesting to me.
So tell me what you think.
TIME IS NEGOTIABLE.
