SmartDuck came out of one small annoyance: YouTube ads that hit way louder than the video you were actually watching, even with Stable Volume turned on.
It doesn't block anything. When an ad starts, the volume slides down to a level you pick, and when the ad ends it slides back up. The ad still plays, so the creator still gets the view.
You decide how far it drops, from a light reduction all the way to full mute. The change is a smooth fade instead of a hard cut, so it doesn't feel abrupt. It all runs in your browser, with no account to create and nothing about what you watch leaving your machine.
