Shrimping turns your AirPods into a posture tracker. It reads the motion sensors to detect head tilt, and a little shrimp on screen curls up the worse you slouch. Stay hunched too long and you get notifications like "Your spine just filed a formal complaint." Runs in the background, works with Apple Watch, has widgets and detailed stats. No camera, no extra hardware.

Hey! I built this because I kept looking down at my desk like a shrimp and wanted something that would call me out without needing to buy a new gadget. AirPods Pro have a gyroscope and accelerometer in them that Apple lets you access as a developer. So I just built an app around that. You calibrate by sitting straight for a few seconds, then it tracks in the background. If you slouch past your limit for too long it sends you a push notification. You can set the hold time so it doesn't go off when you're just reaching for something. The shrimp mascot that curls in real time is my favorite part. Watching a cartoon shrimp match your bad posture is surprisingly motivating. Free version has basic tracking, today stats, and notifications. Pro adds minute-level stat breakdowns, Apple Watch wrist taps, sound alerts through your AirPods, week/year history, and Cloud sync. $2.99/mo, $19.99/yr, or $49.99 lifetime. Happy to answer any questions. What would you want to see added?

Who hunted Shrimping?

Shrimping was hunted by Tyler Berndt. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
