Hey Product Hunt! I’m Jackson, the maker of Shift.
I wanted to give AI a goal and have it bring the work together. That’s what I’m building with Shift: an AI workspace for your Mac.
You start with Neo, describe what you need, and approve a plan. Neo then coordinates Chats, Surf and Studio, with progress and results you can follow.
For example, “Help me learn Blender” can become research in Surf and an editable learning guide in Studio. You can ask follow-up questions, refine the guide, and ask Shift to point out controls inside Blender.
Or start with “Prepare my Product Hunt launch.” The workflow can bring research, positioning, draft copy and a checklist together in Studio. From there, you can ask Neo to propose an Agent for ongoing work and decide what it’s allowed to do.
That connection between conversation, research, documents and action is the part I’m most excited about.
You bring your own AI through a supported account, API key or Ollama. Shift is free during public beta; provider charges and limits are separate.
It’s early, and I’m improving it through everyday use. If you try it, tell me where the workflow breaks or makes you take over. That’s what I want to fix next.
