I'm Liviu, the solo dev behind ShelfCheck. As far as I can tell, no AI-powered beauty inventory tracker has properly launched on PH before - so I'm hoping this is interesting enough to be useful.
Origin story: my partner has a beauty shelf I lost count of months ago. Manually tracking it is a non-starter...she'd never sit down with a spreadsheet, and I wouldn't ask her to. So I built ShelfCheck. Point your phone at a product, Gemini identifies it, estimates the expiry, and adds it to your shelf. Twelve AI scans free for life. Unlimited products on the free tier, forever.
What I think makes it actually different from the few existing beauty trackers:
- Real AI fill (most competitors are barcode + autocomplete; the one other AI-fill app has 1 App Store rating)
- No free-tier product cap (the category leader, Beautistics, caps at 30 items)
- Designed like Glossier, not Excel
Two things I'd genuinely value your honest take on:
Does the AI-fill demo actually land? (Gallery image 2 / the video.) If it feels generic vs. real magic, I want to know - that demo is the whole pitch.
Free-tier-forever with 12 AI scans - right call, or am I giving away too much? Some founders are telling me to cap products too. Curious where the PH crowd lands.
