We kept running into the same issue: video calls are great for meetings, but awkward for just hanging out, watching together, or casually sharing something on screen. Existing tools felt too heavy, too “work-like,” or took too many steps to start.
So we built SHare to remove that friction: create a room fast, share one link, and jump straight into voice + screen sharing. Public rooms help people discover active conversations, while private rooms keep it intimate for friends and small groups.
During the build, our approach evolved a lot. We started feature-first, then shifted to reliability-first after seeing how much trust depends on smooth joins, stable audio, and predictable room presence. We tightened refresh behavior, improved room listing logic, added better localization across languages, and focused on simple controls so users feel in control of mic/screen at all times.
This launch is our first big step: make online hangouts feel effortless, human, and immediate.
