The cryptographic chain of custody is genuinely useful, not just buzz. I uploaded a clip and watched it get hashed and timestamped in real time, which gave me real confidence it's not going to quietly disappear later.
One thing that would really help here is a side-by-side comparison view so people can see what changed between two captures of the same scene. Eyewitness footage often contradicts itself across uploads, and being able to lay clips next to each other with the metadata aligned would make the platform way more useful for anyone trying to piece together what actually happened.
The provenance log is great, but a quick way to visually compare a submitted video against known fakes would be huge. Maybe an optional perceptual hash check or similarity search so contributors can flag near-duplicates that often pop up around major events.
