Seeqr | Scan QR Codes from Device Media
Upload a photo and we'll read the QR code for you.
Recently, a neighbor borrowed my phone because he was locked out of his bank app and needed to scan a QR code to log back in, but he also had to open the link on his own phone, which felt a bit patronizing and odd to me.
A week later I ran into a similar problem: I was sent a QR code to join a WhatsApp Community, but I only had one phone. I grew frustrated, and after searching the web for a solution, I built this through multiple prompt iterations, revisions, and redeployments.
It's a web app that lets you scan QR codes from any image on your device, and it works completely offline. No login required!
love how it does everything locally in the browser, no upload to any server feels like such a thoughtful privacy-first choice. nice and fast too.
Being able to decode multiple QR codes from a single image at once would be a really useful addition, especially for screenshots with several codes embedded.
honestly this is pretty handy, just dragged in a screenshot and it pulled the link right out without me having to install anything. love that it works offline too.
Finally something that just works without asking me to install another app or create an account. Tossed in a screenshot of a menu from last weekend and it pulled the link right out instantly.
The fact that it decodes entirely in-browser without uploading anything is such a thoughtful call, especially for something as quick and throwaway as a QR scan. Really clean execution.
The offline decode is exactly what I was looking for. One thing that would make it even better is adding a simple way to drop multiple images at once so I can batch-scan a folder of receipts without clicking each one separately.
Would love the ability to decode multiple QR codes from a single image at once, sometimes screenshots have several codes and having to crop each one feels tedious.
honestly this is pretty handy, one thing i'd love is the ability to just drag and drop a whole folder of photos and have it scan every QR code in batch at once. that would save a ton of time compared to uploading them one by one
Honestly love that it runs entirely offline with no sign-up, that kind of privacy-first thinking is rare these days. The instant decode on upload is also super smooth.
