Rowsend
Self-hosted email marketing for the users in your database
Rowsend is a desktop app for marketing email. It reads your users from your own database (Postgres, MySQL, MongoDB or Firebase) with a read-only login and sends through your own SES, Postmark, Mailgun or SMTP account. Credentials stay on your computer. Run the sending service on your own server with one Docker image: unsubscribe pages, hosted images, bounces and scheduled sends while your laptop is closed. You pay once, not per contact.
Hi Product Hunt,
I built Rowsend because every email tool I tried wanted two things I didn't want to give: a copy of my users, and a monthly bill that grows with every signup.
Rowsend reads your users from your own database with a read-only login and keeps them in sync. You don't upload a CSV or keep a second copy. You send through your own SES, Postmark, Mailgun or SMTP account and pay their rates. SES charges $0.10 per 1,000 emails.
Run the sending part yourself. Rowsend has a small service, the companion, that sends your mail, hosts unsubscribe pages and images, and records bounces. It runs inside the app by default. To run it on your own server:
ROWSEND_API_KEY="$(openssl rand -hex 32)" docker compose up -d
Add a reverse proxy for HTTPS and paste the URL into Rowsend. Your server then hosts one-click unsubscribe pages and images, catches SMTP bounces, and sends scheduled campaigns while your laptop is closed. It can keep images in S3 or R2 and back up its database with Litestream. The guide is at rowsend.com/docs/companion/self-hosting.
If you'd rather not run a server, Rowsend Cloud does the same job for $9 a month.
What else is in there:
• Block editor with your brand, or paste full HTML
• Segments built from any column in your database
• Topics, so people can unsubscribe from one kind of email and keep the rest
• Warm-up, daily limits and auto-pause on high bounce rates
• An MCP server, so Claude, Codex and other agents can draft campaigns. Only you can press Send.
Rowsend is free for 7 days. After that, a one-time license is $20 for the first 300 buyers, and the code PRODUCTHUNT takes 40% off.
It's macOS for now, and Windows is next. Tell me what's missing, especially if you self-host your email today.

Who hunted Rowsend?
Rowsend was hunted by Rakesh. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
