Hey Product Hunt — I'm Herman, the maker.
I built Route to Ship for my wife. She runs a Shopify store doing custom, made-to-order products: 3,000-5,000 orders a month, ~20 people on the production line. Her nightmare was never sales — it was orders getting lost between production steps (engraving, QC, packing). She held it together with spreadsheets and Zapier until they corrupted one too many times.
So I built her a tool that runs the whole production pipeline inside Shopify: every paid order auto-routes into the right department queue, each person sees exactly what's on their bench, and managers watch the whole floor live. I also added a branded customer tracking portal, so customers follow their order's production progress themselves — that cut her "where's my order?" messages by ~60%.
To be clear about what it is (and isn't): it's not shipping/label software or a courier tracker. It's a production workflow tool for stores that MAKE their products — engravers, embroiderers, jewelers, furniture makers, small-batch manufacturers.

Love how it routes orders straight into department queues, that alone would save us hours each week. One thing I'd love to see is a simple proof approval step inside the customer tracking portal, like a quick approve or request changes button with a comment box, so we don't have to chase emails for every personalized order.

honestly this looks super useful for made to order shops, been waiting for something like this. one thing that would be a game changer is letting customers upload files or images for personalization right inside that tracking portal, saves so many back and forth emails.
