Over the last 8+ years in B2B SaaS sales, I've worked mostly at startups and smaller software companies. At every one, I watched the same thing happen whenever an RFI, RFP, security questionnaire, or vendor assessment landed.
It usually fell to one Solutions Engineer supporting several AEs while also running demos, onboarding customers, and solving technical issues. Most smaller companies don't have a dedicated security or compliance team, so questionnaires become "something to get to later." A response that should take hours often drags into days or weeks.
The work itself was painfully repetitive: searching old Excel files, digging through documents, copying previous answers, and chasing teammates for information.
When I looked for software to solve this, most platforms were built for large enterprises with enterprise pricing, annual contracts, and lengthy sales cycles.
