Hey Product Hunters 👋 I built Random Animal because I kept seeing teachers and parents hunt around for "a random animal" for a lesson, a drawing prompt, or a game — and most random pickers either repeat themselves or pair animals with facts nobody checked. So this one runs on a reviewed catalogue: every animal, fact, and image is checked for its source, identity, and usage rights before it shows up. Pick a quantity, narrow it to a class if you want, lock the ones you like, and re-roll the rest. There's also a small set of connected tools — an animal wheel for group picks, lists, drawing and body-part prompts, and an animal charades generator. Would love your feedback on: – Whether the facts feel trustworthy and useful – Which activity tool you'd actually use in a classroom – Any animals or activities you'd want added next Thanks for taking a look!

A no-repeat mode already exists in the options, which is great for longer sessions. One thing that would make this even better is letting users save or favorite the animals they get, so you can build a personal collection to revisit later or use for ongoing art references.

Love how clean the results come back with the picture, name, and a real fact tied together in one card. The toggle to prevent repeats is a tiny detail but it makes the tool feel thoughtful rather than just a generator.

Picked a capybara and got a surprisingly solid little bio with real facts and a decent photo. The "no repeats" toggle is a small touch that makes it way more useful for quick games with my kid.

It would be great if you could add a small "fun fact" or personality blurb to each animal right next to the image, maybe with the scientific name and conservation status. That way the result feels less like a random pick and more like a quick mini bio, especially handy for kids learning about wildlife.

Who hunted Random Animal ?

Random Animal was hunted by Edmund Harrington. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post.
