I built Prave because I hit a very specific wall with AI Agents.
I had 100+ Skills in ~/.claude/skills/ or ~/.gemini/skills/ and stopped knowing what most of them did. Three were conflicting silently. My context budget was burning ~40% on skills I hadn't used in weeks. Syncing to a new machine meant zipping folders manually.
There was no tooling for this. So I built it.
Prave comes with an beautiful web interface and a CLI on npm. Here's what actually works:
🧠 prave whatdoes [skill] — one command, full explanation: triggers, token cost, conflicts, auto-invocation rules. Even for skills you haven't installed yet.
📊 prave overview — your entire library: total token cost, top 10 heaviest, conflict count, completeness score.
🔄 prave sync — Synchronize your Skills across all your machines with one command, using your Prave account as the single source of truth.
⚡ prave optimize --remove-unused — deletes every skill silent for 30+ days. One confirmation. I freed 22,000 tokens in one shot.
🔍 prave search "review PRs for security" — LLM-aided semantic search over 1,200+ skills. Finds the right skill even when you don't know its name.
🖥️ Browser IDE — CodeMirror 6, AI prompt bar (your own Anthropic/OpenAI/Gemini keys), Tester that streams real provider output with token cost + latency.
🔄 Sub-skills — install the umbrella, get all children. Claude loads only the matching child. Token budget drops, same coverage.
🌐 Pull Requests — propose edits to any public skill. GitHub workflow for the skill ecosystem.
