Pongdari is a hand-drawn baby hippo that lives on your Windows desktop. Click for a big happy smile, rub its belly, drag it around. Right-click and it plops into the water, only its eyes and ears showing. It never reads what you type and never sends anything online.
Hi Product Hunt! 👋
Pongdari began from my daughter's sketch of a baby hippo. It is our third friend, after Ottori the otter and Mangbori the meerkat. The art was drawn with the help of AI, in the same hand-drawn style as the other two.
Hippos spend the day in the water and come out at dusk to graze. Pongdari is a snack-loving water baby who opens wide with an "Ahh~" at just about anything.
I'm not a developer. I built this program step by step with an AI coding assistant.
What Pongdari does:
• Click it for a big happy smile, click the pale pink belly and it flips over giggling, move your mouse back and forth over it to pet it
• Drag it and it dangles; let go quickly and... thud!
• Right-click and plop! It hides in the water, only its eyes and ears showing (Full edition)
• Clicks anywhere except on Pongdari go straight through, and it hides when you go full screen
Pongdari's promise: it never reads what you type, what's on your screen, or your window titles, and never sends anything over the internet.
Basic ($3.99) has 17 reactions, Full ($6.99) has all 51. Windows 10/11, English and Japanese.
I'd love to hear what you think, and what reaction you'd want Pongdari to have next!
