PocketMDM was inspired by my desire to bridge the gap between Apple Shortcuts and enterprise device management platforms. As an Apple engineer, I saw an opportunity to bring powerful MDM capabilities directly into Shortcuts, allowing administrators to create custom workflows without relying on multiple management consoles or writing complex scripts. One of my primary goals was to simplify authentication by securely storing credentials on-device and handling API connections behind the scenes. I wanted to give Apple administrators the flexibility to build their own automations, combine device management actions with other Shortcuts capabilities, and streamline everyday tasks without sacrificing security. Ultimately, PocketMDM was built to make device management automation more accessible, flexible, and efficient.
