PDF Brief
Turn long PDFs into structured briefs you can act on
Most PDF summarizers give you a shallow TL;DR, or lock everything behind a subscription before you know if it works. PDF Brief shows you the real thing first: ✅ Free quick summary of any long PDF — actual quality, not a teaser ✅ Full structured analysis: key findings, arguments, and takeaways ✅ Pay as you go or go unlimited — no forced subscription See the summary before you pay. → pdfbrief.tools
Hey Hunters 👋
You know that moment when you paste a 200-page PDF into a summarizer, get three vague bullet points, and the tool says "subscribe to see more"? You still have no idea if the paid version is any better. That gap is exactly what PDF Brief tries to close.
I'm Eden, and I built this solo after testing a pile of PDF tools and realizing almost all of them lock quality behind a paywall you have to gamble on.
What it does
Two modes. Quick Summary is free every day: upload a PDF and get the key points in seconds — real quality, not a crippled teaser (sign in and the daily allowance gets bigger). Full Analysis is the deep read: it goes through the whole document and gives you key findings, the argument structure, and concrete takeaways, exportable to Markdown or TXT. Drop in a 60-page industry report and you get a brief you could forward to your team as reading notes.
What's special
• The free tier IS the product — same pipeline, honest quality, every day
• Full Analysis reads the entire document, not just the first pages
• Export to Markdown/TXT and drop it straight into your notes app
(When you need more, Full Analysis comes per-document or via a Pro plan — but the daily free summaries are the front door.)
Looking for feedback on
1. What document types do you most want deeper handling for — research papers, contracts, or reports?
2. What export formats would actually fit your workflow beyond Markdown and TXT?
One thing I learned building this: making the free tier genuinely good felt scary for conversion, but every competitor teardown convinced me trust converts better than teasers.
Thanks for checking it out 🚀
Tried it on a 40-page research paper and the quick summary actually picked out the key findings I was looking for, not just surface-level fluff. Love that you can see the real output before deciding to pay.
Love that you show the full summary before asking for a cent, that flip from paywall-first to proof-first takes guts and instantly builds trust.
Love the see-before-you-pay model, that alone sets it apart from most summarizers I have tried. One thing that would seal the deal for me is a Chrome extension so I can right click any PDF in my browser tab and get the brief without downloading or uploading. Would make it feel like part of my actual reading workflow.
