OpenCode 2.0 is a major overhaul. It draws on millions of daily users' experience to deliver a system that can flex to everything an agent needs to be. There are quite a lot of new features, performance improvements, and bug fixes but here are some of the more impactful user-facing changes.
So I actually just use this thing to fix the spacing in my big folder of old text files. It is of strange because the tool expects real programming. That's okay. The default green text color is a little hard on my eyes, at night anyway.
Congrats! Can i run 6 sessions with one account with a single provider credential (for example an Anthropic API key, or OpenCode Zen), can all 6 sessions run concurrently? Are there per-account limits on your side, or is it purely the provider's rate limits?
Congrats to Fang and the OpenCode team on 2.0. Shipping TUI, desktop, and IDE as first-class surfaces is a real step up from terminal-only agents. For teams that bounce between laptop and remote box, do MCP servers, permissions, and session history sync across those surfaces, or is each install still its own silo today?
Congrats on 2.0! I spend most of my day building with Claude Code, so having a choice of models in the same terminal setup is interesting to me. Can you switch models partway through a task and keep the session going?
we're using opencode for months already in our company and the team loves it. looking forward to the 2.0 upgrade.
Congrats on 2.0! I'm firmly in the "the harness matters more than the model" camp, so model-agnostic is the right bet. Curious how sessions handle the context wall now. Do you checkpoint and resume, or still summarise once you get near the limit? Lossy summaries right before the finish line were the #1 way my agents broke.
