Nu is a self-hosted personal agent you can talk to from the terminal or any chat app. Every tool call is checked against your policy, and anything you haven't allowed waits for your approval. Every step is recorded, so a crash or restart resumes where it stopped without repeating work. Shell commands run in a sandbox that holds none of your secrets, and packages can add to or change almost anything Nu does. MIT licensed.
I built Nu because I wanted a personal agent I could leave running in the background and trust that it never does anything I didn't allow.
How it works
Your rules. Every tool call is checked against your rules. Anything you haven't allowed waits for you. You can create a rule using plain English and it gets converted to the policy language.
Durable. Each turn runs as a Rebuno execution, so every step is recorded. Restart Nu mid-task and it continues where it left off without starting over or repeating completed work.
Isolated. Shell commands and file edits run in a sandbox container that can't see any secrets you didn't explicitly grant to it.
Extensible. Nu can write its own packages when it's missing a tool, or install ones others have built.

Who hunted Nu?
Nu was hunted by Nathan Wong. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
