My Own Compass: Reflection!
Offline reflection, with the AI running on your own phone
Most reflection apps live in the cloud and monetize your data. My Own Compass does the opposite. The AI model ships inside the app and runs on your device, which is why the download is 600MB and why there is no server to send anything to. Turn on airplane mode and nothing changes. It asks the right questions instead of handing you answers. No account, no subscription, no tracking. Free to download, one purchase unlocks the rest. Once, not monthly. Seven languages. Your thoughts belong to you.
Hi Product Hunt,
I train and assess people for a living. First as an instructor, now as a mentor and practical assessor. My job is to see where somebody stands and get them further.
What I learned in those years is that a test tells you very little. A good question tells you a lot. The right question at the right moment does more than a ten-page report.
But there was nowhere I could send people. Everything wanted an account, a subscription, or your story on a server. So I built it myself. Four years, evenings and weekends, next to a full-time job. The app, the website, seven languages, all of it alone.
The hard part was not the reflection itself. It was getting the AI to run entirely on the device, so there would be no server at all. That is why the download is close to 600MB: the model ships inside the app. Turn on airplane mode and nothing changes.
One question a day. What you write stays on your phone, encrypted. I cannot read it. Nobody can.
Happy to answer anything.
as of tomorrow it will be free to download and try out a small piece of the app on iOS, Android had already been released!
hope you like it and pls commit a review!
