I’m a 16-year-old developer, and Moviq is actually my very first product launch!
I built this app because, like many of you, I was incredibly tired of spending 30 minutes scrolling through Netflix and other streaming platforms just to find something to watch. I wanted a movie finder that actually understands what I'm in the mood for—instantly.
That's why I created Moviq. It combines natural language movie search with the insane speed of Groq. Instead of playing with clunky filters, you can just describe a vibe, a vague memory of a scene, or a complicated movie-night compromise, and get recommendations in milliseconds.
Since this is my first real project, I put a lot of effort into making the UI as smooth, clean, and responsive as possible.

honestly the natural language search sounds super useful, would love it if moviq could also save a short list of movies i keep coming back to or flag ones i already watched so they stop showing up in suggestions
the natural language search idea is genuinely useful, been there wasting way too long browsing. one thing that would make it stick for me though is letting me save a watchlist inside the app and then telling me when something on it leaves a streaming service i use, that combo of smart discovery plus practical tracking feels missing from most movie tools
Love the natural language search idea, that's genuinely useful. One thing I'd love to see is a way to filter out movies I've already watched, since recommendations often recycle the same films. Maybe sync with my Netflix watch history or just a simple "hide what I've seen" toggle.
