Hey Product Hunt, Karim here. Moonitor first launched here in December 2017 as a desktop app that read your balances through exchange APIs. It has changed completely since: no more API keys, and it now runs on iPhone, Mac, Windows and Linux, so it felt right to show it again.
What bugged me about most trackers: they want a login or your exchange API keys, and they get your performance wrong. They count deposits as gains, and when you move coins to a hardware wallet they read it as a sale at a loss you never took.
Moonitor works the other way:
- No account, no API keys. You record what you hold, it runs on your device
- Live prices from 16 exchanges, and you pick the market for each coin
- Honest P&L: a real time-weighted return, realised vs unrealised profit, and transfers that stay transfers
- Price alerts. On iPhone Pro they arrive even with the app closed
- Hide balances: one switch turns every amount into dots for screen sharing, prices stay visible
- Multiple portfolios with their own base currency, a watchlist and an iPhone widget
