Top comment

Hi Product Hunt! I'm sharing misaka, a free local photo and video manager for Windows, built around browsing the folders you already use. Organize photos with stars, ratings and tags, make non-destructive edits, and export separate copies. Optional face recognition and tag suggestions run on your PC. Auto-tagging setup needs Python and an initial model/package download; FFmpeg is not bundled and may be needed for videos and some image formats. Release 1.0.1 has been tested on Windows 11. The interface supports English and Japanese; the gallery uses a synthetic demo library in Japanese. Development is AI-assisted and the source repository is not public. Feedback on folder browsing and usability is welcome.

Who hunted Misaca?

Misaca was hunted by poni-tiwa. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
