Line-aligned
Turn Google Docs into two-page study notes for iPad
Line-aligned re-formats your Google Docs text, tables, and charts into ruled loose-leaf PDFs (6mm/7mm grid-aligned). Perfect for iPad handwriting (Goodnotes/Notability) and printing, featuring an auto-generated two-page spread (summary on the left, lined notes on the right).
Hi Product Hunt community! 👋
I built Line-aligned because printing or exporting Google Docs often messes up line heights and margins, making them frustrating to use for handwritten study notes.
Line-aligned automatically re-formats Docs text and tables into 6mm/7mm grid-aligned pages. It also generates a two-page study spread (clean summary on the left, ruled lines for Apple Pencil on the right), perfect for Goodnotes, iPad study, and printing.
It's completely free to use via the Google Workspace Marketplace. Would love to hear your feedback and feature requests!
Hi everyone! Today I'm thrilled to announce a major breakthrough for Line-aligned: it is now officially a full-fledged typesetting engine! 🚀
We completely overhauled the typography backend to solve chronic document-layout compromises:
Strict mm Baseline-Grid Constraint: Perfect vertical alignment across all columns without baseline drift.
Knuth-Liang Syllable Hyphenation: Full algorithmic hyphenation implemented in Go, preventing awkward character-level wrapping even in tight 3-column layouts.
Print-Ready Mirror Margins: Asymmetric margins designed specifically for hole-punching and stapling off the printer (JIS A4/A5 compliant).
You can now turn standard Google Docs into academic-grade, publication-ready layouts with zero manual alignment fuss. Would love to hear your thoughts and feedback!
