Honestly, Lida started from my own frustration. Every time I got stuck in an app, I'd open ChatGPT, take a screenshot, paste it, read a wall of text, switch back, try something, get stuck again and open another chat. Ten tabs later I still couldn't find the button.
So I thought: why can't the AI just look at my screen and show me?
That's Lida. You talk to her, she sees what you see, and she points at the exact thing to click. No screenshots, no copy-paste, no tab juggling. It feels like an expert sitting right next to you.
She works in three ways:
• Guide: she highlights the next step on your screen, one step at a time
• Teach: she explains the idea on a board beside your work while she talks
• Agent: she does the task while you watch, and asks before anything risky like sending or deleting
The approach changed a lot along the way. At first I wanted her to do everything for you. Then I realised most people want to learn, not just get things done and they want to stay in control. So trust came first: one key silences her and if you grab the mouse while she's acting, she stops.
