A few months ago, we asked a simple question:
Why is calorie tracking still so painful in 2026?
Most apps still expect you to manually search huge databases, estimate portions, or spend minutes logging every meal. People don't quit because they lack motivation—they quit because tracking becomes a chore.
So we built LeanUp.
Instead of making you do the work, LeanUp uses AI to do it for you.

Our goal wasn't to build another calorie tracker.
We wanted to build the nutrition app we'd actually want to use every day—one that's fast, intelligent, and removes as much friction as possible.
We've spent months improving food recognition, making AI responses more useful, and simplifying every screen based on user feedback.

really liked how quick the food scan was, just snapped my lunch and the macros popped up almost instantly which made logging way less of a chore than other apps ive tried
The food scanning flow feels really well thought out, snapping to portions instead of forcing you to type everything in. Nice execution on what is usually the most painful part of these apps.
honestly looks solid for quick logging but one thing that would be huge is letting me edit a logged meal after the fact without it getting weird with the daily totals. sometimes i forget a sauce or swap an ingredient and have to delete and redo everything, kind of annoying
Although calorie apps are a really saturated niche nowadays, I like how your app merges fragmented pieces together; some apps only spit out ingredient lists when you scan a barcode and some apps just rely on fodo pictures. Your app has everything plus an AI assistant. I'd pivot towards that advantage of all-in-one for marketing.
Really like how quick the food scanning feels, but one thing that would seal the deal for me is a built-in grocery list that auto-generates from my weekly meal plan, grouped by aisle. Would save me from bouncing between this app and my notes app every Sunday.
Love how quick the food scanning is, but it would be amazing if you could save favorite meals as reusable templates with one tap. Logging the same breakfast every day gets old fast, and templates would save a ton of friction.
