Hey Product Hunt 👋 I'm Vadym, solo maker of Leafy. Quick backstory: I kept killing houseplants because "water once a week" doesn't actually work — it depends on light exposure, pot material, drainage, and the season. What Leafy does: — Calculates a real watering/fertilizing schedule per plant (light, pot, season factors) — Identifies a species from a photo — AI botanist chat for care questions and troubleshooting sick leaves — Built-in light meter to check if a spot is actually "bright indirect" — Growth tracker + care diary — Free for up to 3 plants, no credit card needed to try it This is a genuinely solo project, so I'll be here all day answering everything — what's missing, what's confusing, what you'd want next. Brutally honest feedback welcome, that's the whole point of being here. Thanks for checking it out 🌱

Generic watering reminders always felt too rigid to me — every plant's actual needs are different. How does Leafy figure out the right schedule per plant — is it based on species data, or does it also factor in things like light exposure and season?

Have been wanting something like this for my fiddle leaf fig that keeps dropping leaves. One idea: add a humidity meter reading using the phone's microphone or a quick ambient check, since dry winter air indoors is usually the missing piece these apps ignore.

One thing I'd love to see is a humidity and temperature tracker built in, even just pulling from your phone's local weather data. Right now the schedule feels smart about light and season, but most of my plants die from dry winter air, and having the app nudge me to mist or move things away from a cold window would make it feel even more personal.

Finally an app that doesn't just tell me to water everything on Sunday. Snapped a pic of my fiddle leaf fig and the light recommendations actually matched where it's been thriving in my apartment.
