I'm Oleg — solo indie founder behind Klyxshot.
The story: I do a lot of work that involves screenshots — bug reports, sharing UI ideas, learning from screenshots of articles, helping friends with foreign documents. I kept doing the same loop: take screenshot → paste into ChatGPT → ask question → copy answer somewhere. I wanted that loop to be one keystroke.
So I built it. Free version is genuinely free — full editor, lasso, multi-monitor, history of 20, themes, custom hotkeys. Pro layers AI on top: OCR, image analysis, translation, Lens.
A few things I'm proud of:
- Native Windows installer with proper Start Menu integration
- Privacy-first: nothing leaves your machine unless you explicitly use AI
- The lasso selection — drawing freeform shapes feels weirdly satisfying
- Auto-startup that actually works (took 3 attempts to get right)
Some things I'd love feedback on:
- Pricing — $4.99/mo too high? Too low?
- Are there obvious AI features I'm missing?
- macOS / Linux — worth doing? (huge effort solo)
