KIOKUN — Photo Stamp & Timestamp
Stamp every photo with its place, date & a little art
Every other stamp app adds the date as a removable overlay — or makes your photo look like paperwork. KIOKUN does the opposite. It composites the place name, address and date into the pixels at full resolution, so the record stays with the image — you can't peel it off like a sticker. Then it makes that record beautiful: 19 fonts, custom colors, and stamps you drag anywhere (so the date never overlaps the location). Made for travel, memories, and records you can trust. iOS now · Android soon
Hey Product Hunt 👋
I'm Koryu, the solo maker behind KIOKUN. The name comes from *kioku* — Japanese for "memory" — which is really what the whole app is about.
It started with a small frustration: I love flipping through old travel photos, but I could never remember *where* half of them were taken. So I went looking for an app to stamp the place and date onto them, and everything I found did one of two things — added the info as a removable overlay (so it wasn't really part of the memory), or made my photos look like insurance paperwork.
I wanted the opposite: a stamp that becomes part of the photo, and actually looks like something you'd want to keep.
So KIOKUN composites the place name, address and date straight into the pixels at full resolution. It's not a sticker you can peel off later — it's baked in. And since this is about memories, not receipts, you get 19 fonts, custom colors, and stamps you can drag anywhere (so the date never lands on top of the location, which drove me nuts in other apps).
It began as a travel thing, but people are also using it for everyday records and "where was I" moments.
Free to start, iOS is live today, and Android is close behind.
I'd genuinely love your feedback — especially on the fonts and the on-photo editing.
And one thing I keep going back and forth on: would you rather a stamp you can remove later, or one that's permanently part of the photo? I went all-in on permanent — curious whether that resonates or feels risky to you. 👇
Love that the date and place actually get baked into the pixels. One thing that would make it a no-brainer for trips: let me save a reusable template for each trip, like "Tokyo, Japan" with a chosen font and color, so I don't re-enter it every single photo.
One thing that would make this even better for me as a user: a way to save stamp presets per trip or event so I am not rebuilding the same location format every time I land somewhere new. A simple "save preset" button after arranging a stamp would let me reuse the exact font, color, and layout for every photo from that trip without fiddling with settings each shot.
Love the pixel-composite approach, that's genuinely clever. One thing I'd want though is a way to add a small custom note or initials to the stamp, basically a little personal signature line under the date for trips with friends or family milestones. Would make it feel even more like a real keepsake.
Finally downloaded it and the stamping into the actual pixels thing is legit clever, way better than those overlay stickers that get smudged when I screenshot. Also nice not having to fight the date landing on top of the location text.
