Hi Product Hunt! I built keepita after realizing something most people only find out too late: our phones hold everything—but they aren’t truly safe by default.
Accidental deletions, stolen devices, failed updates, hacked accounts, and malware can wipe out years of memories and work in seconds. Lost photos from a trip? Gone voice notes, contacts, or important files after a reset? Even “built-in backups” often don’t save what actually matters when things go wrong.
Keepita adds a fully independent backup layer for iOS and Android devices, including Samsung and Xiaomi phones. It continuously backs up your photos, videos, messages, calls, files, apps, and conversations into an isolated, immutable cloud—so even if your phone is lost, wiped, or compromised, everything can be restored exactly as it was.
Under the hood, it’s built with a pragmatic modern stack: Django + DRF, PostgreSQL, Redis, and S3-compatible object storage (MinIO), deployed in a containerized environment with background job processing for continuous sync. On the frontend, React with React Query powers a fast, responsive mobile-first experience.
