I'm Aubry, a software engineer from Switzerland and I'd like to introduce Isochrone.ch to the Product Hunt community, a free interactive map for exploring public transport accessibility across Switzerland.
Most transit journey planners answer one question: "How do I get there?" but sometimes the question is actually "Where can I go?". Where could I go hiking within 90 minutes of Lausanne? Which towns are within commuting distance of my workplace? How does changing my departure time affect where I can travel?
With Isochrone.ch, you simply pick a starting point, choose when you want to leave and how long you're willing to travel and the map reveals the places you can reach.
Unlike in most existing tools, all public transport routing runs directly in your browser. No server round-trips for each calculation, making it superfast and highly interactive. I developed an open-source routing library (minotor.dev) to make this possible.
I originally released Isochrone.ch in early 2025 as a personal side project and I've continued developing it since then. I'd love your feedback! Would you use a tool like this to plan weekend adventures, choose where to live, or explore something else entirely?
